When I purchase a full set of sheets - fitted + top + pillowcase - the pillowcase size and count is associated with the bed size. Purchase a twin set, receive a single standard pillowcase. Purchase a queen, receive two standard or queen pillowcases. Purchase a king, receive two king pillowcases.
While i see now that it's clearly written in the lengthy description that the king set comes with two standard pillow protectors, is it unreasonable to trustassumeinfer that when ordering a bedding for a king sized bed, all included accessories would be appropriately sized? Should one need to read the full description of an item that already has a conventional delivery model? Or, might it be helpful if the manufacturersellermarketer makes the unconventional practice CLEAR AS DAY so that the information isn't overlooked?
I purchased the mattress protector because of the wildly positive reviews. I opted for the bundle with pillow protectors because I recently purchased a new bed and a host of pillows. I often sweat when I sleep and would double or triple up cotton pillow protectors on my old standard sized pillows - and the pillows were still discolored over time. When I saw this item, I was excited about possibly having a better way to protect my new pillows without layering protectors under my pillowcases. Needless to say, I'm disappointed.

We just got a new mattress and so I wanted to make sure it stays clean and protected. I've seen a lot of water proof mattress protectors that have the feel of a plastic shower curtain. This one does not. It's soft and while it does breathe it is close to air tight.
I wondered how they accomplish this without making it completely out of plastic. I have a magnifier app on my phones camera. I snapped a very extreme close up of the material. You cannot see this with your eyes unless you get very close and it is still a lot smaller than this photo shows. It is a very tightly woven material of some sort. That's how it can be breathable and Waterproof all at the same time. The material reminds me of a winter coat I used to own that are also Waterproof. I used to lay in the snow with that on and stay completely dry.
All of the mattress protectors I've seen at local stores came with just the mattress protector. This one included two pillow protectors for standard pillows for about the same price. That was enough to make me buy this protector.

Very impressed with the quality. Excellent workmanship. The pockets are 18 deep and fit well over my queen size mattress with a 4 thick memory foam topper. It tucked well under the mattress and has elastic around the bottom edge to keep it tucked in. The pillow case has a high quality zipper and fits nicely. The material does not feel like those vinyl plastic ones. This is a woven material that feels nice and does not give the crinkling sound when you lie on it.

I got this item in the fitted model, not the zipper case model (didn't want to attempt an encasement of a California King mattress! As soon as I put it on, I poured water on it to test its water resistance. The water immediately pooled up, beaded up, didn't spread around, and I let the water soak for 10 minutes. At the ten minute mark, I got a paper towel, blotted it dry, and checked for penetration to the mattress. The mattress was dry. The mattress cover was surprisingly not damp, which allowed me to immediately put my flat sheet over it. I put enough water on this product to simulate my new Boxer puppy's tinkle amount. I'm happy with my purchase! It's soft, seems water resistant, and while I'm potty training my puppy, I now feel more confident my mattress is protected if he has an excited accident! If this product degrades or becomes ineffective before a wash, I will update this review.
